01Contact us

Send us a message and we will reply to the email you provide. For the fastest response, pick the closest subject and describe what you were doing when the issue happened.

02Common issues

Audio is not playing

  • Make sure your phone is not on silent and the volume is up.
  • If the audio guide is generated on demand, the first play needs a network connection. Once produced, it is cached and works offline.
  • Other audio apps (calls, music, voice notes) can interrupt Waulk. Close them and try again.
  • If nothing works, force-quit Waulk and reopen, then tap the play button on the POI card.

The city will not download

  • Check your network. City bundles are small (around 3 to 5 MB) but they need a working connection.
  • Pull down on the Cities list to refresh.
  • If a download stalls, tap the city again to restart it.

The map is empty or I see no POIs

  • Make sure you have granted location permission to Waulk (Settings, Privacy, Location Services).
  • Confirm that you have downloaded the city you are in. Walking around in an uncovered area returns no POIs.
  • You can also use the Cities tab to download a city manually before starting a walk.

POI triggers do not start automatically

  • Auto-play is opt-in. Open the POI card and check the "Auto-play guides as you walk near them" box.
  • For triggers to fire when the app is in the background, enable background discovery on the home screen.

My city is not covered

Open the Cities tab and tap "Request your area" while you are inside the area. We generate the POI database on our side and notify you when it is ready. Most requests are fulfilled within a few hours.

03Account & deletion

Do I need an account?

No. Waulk works end to end without signing in. You can browse cities, take walks, and listen to audio guides without an account. Sign-in is only required if you want to contribute photos, earn Waulk Points, or claim a username.

How do I sign in?

From the home screen, tap the "Sign In" tile and choose Sign in with Apple. Your existing Apple ID is used; we never see your password.

How do I delete my account?

In the app: open Profile, scroll to the bottom, and tap Delete Account. This permanently removes your username, profile, contribution history, Waulk Points, and any photos you submitted. The action takes effect within a few seconds and cannot be undone.

If you cannot access the in-app option, email support@waulk.ai from the address tied to your Sign in with Apple and we will delete it manually within 30 days.

Username cooldown: After deletion, your username is reserved for 24 hours. If you change your mind during that window you can reclaim it by signing in again.

04Beta status

Waulk v1.4.0 is our first public release. Some features are still under active development:

  • Audio guides at launch are narrated by our Professor voice. Additional personas (Storyteller, Comedian, Local Guide) and human creator guides will follow.
  • City coverage is growing every week. If your city is missing, request it.
  • Background notifications can be sensitive to OS-level changes; if you see odd behaviour, please report it.
  • Waulk Points are an in-app reward only. There is no in-app purchase or external redemption in this version.

05Report a bug

Use the contact form with the subject set to Report a bug. To help us fix things faster, please include:

  • iPhone model and iOS version (Settings, General, About).
  • Waulk version, visible at the bottom of the home screen (for example, v1.4.0 (40)).
  • City and POI involved.
  • What you did, what you expected, and what actually happened.
  • A screenshot or screen recording if possible.

06Suggest a feature
